Jaime VPosition SummaryThe Senior Metallurgical / Welding Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and support related to metallurgy, materials, brazing alloys, powder processing, and manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with production, quality, engineering, and sales teams to troubleshoot technical challenges, improve manufacturing processes, and support product development.

This position serves as the primary technical resource for metallurgical and process-related support and plays a key role in maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Metallurgical SupportProvide technical expertise related to metallurgy, alloy systems, brazing materials, and powder processingAnalyze material properties, specifications, and product performanceInvestigate and troubleshoot metallurgical and manufacturing-related issuesSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality concernsReview and support technical specifications, procedures, and documentationProduction & Process SupportWork closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing and processing issuesAssist with process improvements to improve yield, efficiency, and product consistencySupport implementation of new materials, products, and manufacturing methodsMonitor compliance with technical and process standardsQuality & Customer SupportSupport Quality with audits, investigations, and customer-related technical concernsAssist in responding to customer complaints and technical inquiriesCollaborate with Sales and Technical Services to support customer needs and product applicationsContinuous ImprovementParticipate in Lean and continuous improvement initiativesDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, and technical documentationIdentify opportunities to improve manufacturing reliability and efficiencyMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Welding Engineering, or related field5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong knowledge of metallurgy, metals, alloys, and material behaviorExperience troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issuesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with production, quality, engineering, and sales teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in powder metallurgy, brazing products, or related processesExperience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesExperience supporting customer technical inquiries and product applicationsSupervisory or leadership experience preferred but not requiredWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsWork performed in an industrial manufacturing environmentFrequent exposure to industrial dusts and metal powders including nickel, chrome, cobalt, copper, silicon, and ironRequired use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when necessaryAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionallyAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the facilityAbility to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as neededExposure to noise, moving equipment, forklifts, and varying temperaturesFlexible hours and overtime may be required based on production demands We offer competitive salary and an excellent benefit package that includes medical, vision, dental, life, AD&D, and 401k match.
