Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Plastics Engineer to join our team and drive forward our research, development, and manufacturing initiatives in plastics technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge product development, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure the highest standards of quality control. As a key player in our engineering team, you will leverage your expertise in plastics processing, CAD design, and mechanical engineering principles to develop innovative solutions that meet market demands and industry standards. Responsibilities Lead research and development projects focused on plastics injection molding, blow molding, and fabrication techniques to create new products or improve existing ones. Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software to design molds, fixtures, and components with precision, ensuring compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Develop detailed project schedules to manage multiple product development initiatives efficiently from conception through production. Conduct laboratory experiments and testing to evaluate material properties, mechanical performance, and quality control metrics for plastics components. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize processes for plastics injection molding and blow molding, ensuring efficiency and consistency. Collect data on process performance, analyze results, and implement improvements aligned with ASME codes & standards for safety and quality. Support product development by researching new materials, technologies, and industry trends in plastics engineering and chemical engineering applications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus. Proven experience in plastics manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, and fabrication. Strong proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks; experience with CAD data collection is essential. Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise engineering drawings and quality control. Hands-on laboratory experience with material testing, process validation, and quality assurance protocols. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to pressure vessels or manufacturing equipment is desirable. Mechanical knowledge of machinery used in plastics processing along with fabrication skills. Excellent project scheduling skills to manage timelines effectively across research & development projects. Join us in shaping the future of plastics technology!
