Minimum of three (3) years of welding industry experience. Experience in robotic welding and orbital welding systems. Work Schedule Part-time schedule based on program needs. SUMMARY:
Temple College is seeking a Part-Time Industrial Trainer - Robotic Welding Instructor to deliver hands-on instruction in robotic and orbital welding systems. This role supports workforce training aligned with advanced manufacturing and automation industry needs, preparing students for high-demand careers in modern welding environments. Qualifications (Required and Preferred) Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Welding or related field. Minimum of three (3) years of welding industry experience. Experience in robotic welding and orbital welding systems. Preferred Qualifications Welding certifications (e.g., AWS). Experience with robotic welding platforms (FANUC, ABB, Motoman, etc.) Experience with weld testing, inspection, and quality assurance. Prior teaching or workforce training experience. Job Duties and Responsibilities Essential Responsibilities Teach robotic and orbital welding, including setup, programming, and operation. Instruct welding processes (MIG, TIG, FCAW) in manual and automated applications. Provide hands-on lab instruction and ensure adherence to safety standards. Teach blueprint reading, weld symbols, and basic metallurgy. Support student skill development and evaluate performance. Maintain lab equipment and training environments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities & Physical Demands
KNOWLEDGE
Principles and practices of welding, including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and orbital welding. Robotic welding systems, programming, and automated manufacturing processes. Welding safety standards, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE. Blueprint reading, weld symbols, and basic metallurgy concepts.
SKILLS:
Hands-on operation and instruction of robotic and orbital welding equipment. Demonstrating welding techniques and troubleshooting welding processes. Evaluating weld quality, including visual inspection and basic testing methods. Effective communication and instructional delivery in a lab-based environment.
ABILITIES
Ability to teach complex technical concepts in a clear, applied manner. Ability to manage a safe and productive lab environment. Ability to adapt instruction to varying student skill levels. Ability to collaborate with program leadership and industry partners. Ability to maintain accurate training records and student evaluations. Working Conditions Instruction is delivered in a welding lab and industrial training environment. Exposure to heat, welding arcs, fumes, and loud noise levels. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in lab settings. Work may occur during evenings and/or weekends based on program scheduling. Interaction with students, faculty, and industry partners in both classroom and shop settings. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a lab/shop environment. Ability to lift, carry, and handle welding materials and equipment (typically up to 50 lbs) Ability to demonstrate welding techniques, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating welding and robotic equipment. Visual acuity sufficient to inspect welds and operate precision equipment. Work Schedule & Hours Part-time schedule based on program needs. May include evenings, weekends, and off-site industry training.
