Job Description

Plant Metallurgist We are seeking an experienced Plant Metallurgist to support metallurgical operations and process optimization within a copper processing facility. This hands-on role works closely with operations teams to improve recovery, efficiency, and overall plant performance across flotation, leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning processes. Responsibilities Monitor and improve plant KPIs including copper recovery, reagent consumption, and SX/EW performance Analyze metallurgical data and support process optimization initiatives Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues alongside plant personnel Support quality control, safety, and environmental compliance Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement projects Conduct plant walkthroughs and provide operational support in the field Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mineral Processing Engineering 4-6 years of metallurgical experience in processing plants Strong understanding of copper extraction and refining processes Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies preferred Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills DCS knowledge, project experience, or programming skills are a plus Work Environment This role combines office and plant-based work in an industrial processing environment. Candidates must be comfortable working around operating equipment and in varying outdoor conditions. Additional Information Full-time | Monday-Friday Occasional overtime as needed Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
