Responsible to provide materials science services to the global business prioritized projects to improve the quality and safety of products. The role covers a diverse range of services including technical leadership, expert consultation, proficient analytical data generation, result interpretation, and report communication to the customer. This role also allows for creative problem solving in support of the unique challenges that can present while supporting a global technical workgroup.Key Responsibilities:
Operate advanced materials characterization instruments and perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification activities. Leverage deep understanding of material properties and instrument capabilities to support complex and novel investigations. Conduct critical physicochemical analyses on pharmaceutical, nutritional, and excipient materials. Interpret analytical data and generate clear, accurate, and scientifically sound reports. Author, review, and approve technical documents, ensuring timely and high-quality project deliverables. Perform detailed peer review of electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) entries and technical reports with strong attention to data integrity. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment aligned with safety and quality standards. Communicate effectively in a cross-functional (matrixed) environment with internal teams and stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear updates on project progress and deliverables.Required skills:
Independently design and execute physicochemical studies for powders and liquids in GLP/GMP environments. Own analytical workflows including method development, sample preparation, instrument operation, and data analysis. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Apply advanced analytical techniques (rheometry, microscopy, XRD, TGA/DSC, DVS, FTIR, Raman, SEM-EDS, DLS, BET/SSA) for material characterization. Interpret complex datasets to generate insights supporting material, formulation, and process understanding. Troubleshoot analytical issues and drive innovative, science-based problem solving. Collaborate with project leaders and cross-functional teams to meet deliverables and timelines. Work autonomously while maintaining accountability for high-quality results and project milestones. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and train/mentor team members in specialized techniques. Maintain and ensure proper calibration/qualification of laboratory instruments. Document experiments, methods, and results in compliance with GLP/GMP and data integrity standards. Utilize Microsoft Office and web-based tools for data analysis, reporting, and communication.Minimum Requirement:
B.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Nanoscience, or Material Science backgroundPreferred Level of Education:
