Role:
Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer IV to join our EPC team supporting power generation and distribution projects including gas turbines, renewables, BESS, substations, transmission systems, and gas treatment facilities. This role will lead the development of high-quality mechanical equipment designs and provide technical expertise across multidisciplinary project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong EPC project experience, a background in power and rotating equipment systems, and the ability to mentor entry-level engineers while also being comfortable performing detailed behind-the-scenes engineering and coordination work.
What You'll Do:
Lead mechanical equipment engineering activities for EPC power and industrial projects. Develop conceptual designs, equipment layouts, technical specifications, and cost studies. Support the design, selection, and evaluation of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, and related systems. Apply advanced engineering methods to mechanical, utility, and gas treatment systems. Perform equipment sizing calculations, technical evaluations, and material take-offs. Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and interdisciplinary deliverables. Support procurement documentation, construction packages, and field engineering activities. Coordinate with piping, structural, electrical, process, and drafting teams throughout project execution. Mentor entry-level and early-career engineers by providing technical guidance and support. Perform detailed engineering and technical execution work with minimal oversight.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. PE license highly preferred. Minimum of 10-15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in EPC, power generation, or industrial environments.
Strong experience with:
EPC project execution Power generation projects Rotating equipment Gas treatment systems Vendor coordination and equipment procurement Knowledge of piping systems, stress analysis, supports, safety devices, steam systems, and specialty materials. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Strong mentoring, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable supporting both leadership responsibilities and detailed behind-the-scenes engineering work.
