Position Summary:
The Mechanical department provides Mechanical Engineering expertise for all phases of product development, from design through production. Applies expertise in Mechanical Engineering in various aspects of the development of electronic components for aerospace applications.
Job Description:
Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Engineer III): Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Engineering. Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks. Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably ANSYS. Ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion. Ability to explain a range of technical information. Excellent communicator•can sell concepts to people at all levels in the organization, including engineers. Flexible and adaptable to change.
Assets:
Knowledge of
DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP.
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Role & Responsibilities:
Electronic Packaging Design of Aerospace Hardware. CAD design, 3D and 2D (sheet metal, machined parts, plastic parts, castings). Drawing packages (including 2D CAD drawings). BOM part selections. FEA Analysis (Structural and Thermal). Advanced knowledge of FEA structural analysis and thermal analysis tools. Keep current with state-of-the-art techniques for electronics packaging and material technology and processes as may be required. Execute engineering strategy for the Tucson site. Lead process improvements related to mechanical engineering expertise.
