Full Job Description Position Summary:
Position will work in our Piping Department and will be responsible for the design of piping systems.
Basic Duties:
Will work under the supervision of a Piping Engineer. Will develop and apply engineering principles into design of mechanical piping systems for process facilities. This includes development of pump calculations, piping isometrics, definition of pipeline materials of construction, review and input into P&ID's, and selection of pumps/pipeline components. Will be available to learn and engage in any aspect of mechanical engineering, including learning new technologies. Will learn or enhance AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Revit software proficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, or related field. Working knowledge and experience using 3D modeling software such as Inventor, Plant 3D, and or Revit, and MS office. Knowledge of typical industry codes and standards, such as
API, NACE, HI, ANSI NFPA.
Knowledge using computational fluid dynamics software. Candidate must be able to travel, domestically & internationally, to other M3 offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects. Must be able to work in a project team and maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detailed-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills. Must be able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner and work in a team environment sharing roles and responsibilities, with limited supervision. Valid passport or the ability to obtain one is required.
Desired Qualifications:
EIT, PE Previous mining experience Experience as a discipline lead for multidisciplinary design and construction projects. Bilingual English / Spanish abilities Experience using Pipe-Flo Professional for complex network analysis and Darcy-Weisbach and/or Hazen-Williams for simple systems. Experience with calculation and design with a variety of fluids both Newtonian and non-Newtonian, specification and selection of materials and process equipment.
