Job Title:
Electro-Mechanical Engineer Job Description Our innovative team is seeking a highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, simulation, and testing of advanced power systems for clean energy delivery from batteries to the grid. The role involves creating electro-mechanical sub-assemblies to deliver power and control signals, ensuring they meet quality and reliability standards through rigorous testing. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment to work on cutting-edge technology. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Own the electromechanical design of battery products, including high voltage distribution, isolation, grounding, harnessing, and more. Address challenges related to electronics packaging such as electrical isolation, sealing, thermal regulation, and shock and vibration mitigation. Lead root cause analyses (RCAs) and cross-functional interface design. Conduct mechanical design analysis including thermal, structural, and design for assembly and test. Oversee design from conception through all iterations to mass-production. Create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions for parts and assemblies. Design and develop electromechanical and electrical systems to support test stand safety and improvements. Essential Skills Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of experience for bachelor's, or 6+ years for master's. Proven experience in electrical and mechanical design with proficiency in CAD tools like SolidWorks or NX. Expertise in cost modeling, multi-physics simulations, and optimizations. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals, GD&T, and first principles calculations. Experience with high-volume manufacturing and design for harsh environments. Solid understanding of power distribution, electrical circuits, and protection devices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with plastic injection mold, sheet metal, electrical panel, and busbars. Basic understanding of busbar design including sizing, insulation, and bolted joints. Plastic design for electrical insulation and sheet metal design experience. Work Environment The role offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will work with various engineering teams. You will be involved in taking designs from concept to production, ensuring quality and reliability in a dynamic and innovative setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
