Mechanical Design Engineer Confidential Berkeley, CA $47.50 - $165.00 an hour - Full-time $47.50 - $165.00 an hour - Full-time Mechanical Design Engineer About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of next-generation energy storage and high-voltage products. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on product design, development, and production release. The ideal candidate has experience taking products from concept through production and thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment. Responsibilities Design and develop OEM mechanical components and assemblies Create and modify CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation Support products through the full development lifecycle from concept to production Perform engineering analysis and design validation Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and product teams Support prototype builds, testing, and production release activities Identify and solve technical design challenges Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 5+ years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience Experience launching products into production Strong CAD design experience (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or similar) Experience designing components and assemblies for manufacturing Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including stress, force, materials, and design principles Ability to work independently and drive projects forward with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) EV Battery Systems High Voltage Products (48V+) Power Electronics Renewable Energy Industrial Equipment Energy Storage Systems Full product lifecycle ownership from concept through production What We're Looking For Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership Problem solver who can work through ambiguity Engineer who asks questions, identifies issues early, and drives solutions Experience working in fast-paced product development environments This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing engineering team developing cutting-edge energy storage and power technologies while positioning yourself for long-term conversion into a permanent role.
