7:00-4:00pm PST Position Summary Client is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the Corporate Engineering Services team. This role will support engineering teams with hardware troubleshooting, PCB assembly and rework, prototype builds, mechanical assembly, and engineering lab support. The technician will work closely with hardware, mechanical, component, sourcing, CAD, and program management teams to support the development and delivery of lab and test hardware. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, hardware troubleshooting, prototype development, and test platform support in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot hardware and engineering test platform issues. Perform root cause analysis on hardware and rework failures. Build and support prototype and reference devices. Prepare, load, solder, and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs). Repair, modify, and rework electronic assemblies. Assemble chassis, racks, test boxes, and reference devices. Fabricate wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and PCBs. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings. Maintain prototype lab equipment, tools, and materials. Assist with PCB/PWB layout design and documentation. Develop rework instructions for new processes and equipment. Evaluate reliability of materials and manufacturing techniques. Support multiple engineering projects with aggressive timelines. Collaborate with engineering teams across the U.S., India, and Europe. Work effectively with RF, Analog, Mixed-Signal, and Digital Engineering teams. Required Skills Hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis. PCB assembly, soldering, repair, and rework experience.
Ability to read and interpret:
Schematics Wiring diagrams Blueprints Wire lists Technical drawings Mechanical assembly experience.
Experience assembling:
Chassis Racks Cable assemblies Wire harnesses Skilled in CCA soldering and blue-wire modifications. Experience disassembling and reassembling electronic devices. Proficiency with assembly tools and equipment.
Ability to operate:
SMT equipment Chip rework stations 3D printers CNC machines Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with AI tools to improve efficiency. Preferred Qualifications Pursuing or completed degree in: Mechanical Engineering (ME) Electrical Engineering (EE) Technical Discipline Soldering and/or ESD Certification. Creo CAD experience. Desktop CNC and SMT programming experience. 3+ years of electronic and/or mechanical assembly experience. 2+ years using assembly tools and equipment, including: Soldering irons Crimpers Heat guns Hand tools 1+ year of wire harness and cable assembly fabrication experience. Understanding of PCB/PWB design principles and standards.
