(Must meet ITAR compliance and have Aerospace experience.) Key Responsibilities Perform product testing and analyze failures to identify root causes and recommend effective design improvements. Evaluate product feasibility and contribute to design concept development from initial idea through final execution. Interpret engineering sketches, technical drawings, and specifications to determine design requirements including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and functional fit. Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and design intent are achieved. Develop detailed layout sketches and perform engineering calculations involving dimensions, angles, weights, surface areas, clearances, and load requirements. Analyze mechanical forces including tension, compression, and bending to ensure components are designed for operational durability and reliability. Create detailed multi-view drawings of parts and assemblies, including specifications such as gear ratios, bearing loads, and motion interactions. Modify and optimize designs to improve performance, reduce manufacturing issues, and enhance overall product efficiency. Inspect and measure components and machinery prior to production to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Utilize CAD and computer-aided drafting software to design, model, and refine mechanical components and assemblies. Lead and coordinate design reviews, engineering discussions, and technical meetings with cross-functional teams. Develop manufacturing-ready drawings from initial concept through final production release. Partner with suppliers to resolve production challenges and support new product development initiatives. Communicate technical information clearly to customers, engineers, and sales teams, providing engineering support as needed. Prepare and deliver technical presentations for both internal stakeholders and external clients. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required. Experience 3-7+ years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing engineering preferred. Experience working with product testing, failure analysis, and design validation. Background in manufacturing environments or production support strongly preferred. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, sales, and suppliers. Technical Skills Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent). Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Ability to perform engineering calculations related to loads, stress, tolerances, and motion. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with machining, fabrication, and assembly processes. Core Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to lead design reviews and present technical information clearly. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Team-oriented mindset with ability to work independently when needed.
