Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability#26-06624 $72.46-$75.07 per hour Foster City, CA All On-site Job Description Our Client, an AV Manufacturing company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer - Serviceability for their Foster City , CA location.
Responsibilities:
Design For Serviceability Partner with cross-functional teams to drive Serviceability (Design for Serviceability). Evaluate part and assembly design, from concept to design to manufacturing introduction for hand clearance, tooling clearance, ergonomics, and feasibility of replacement of all components. Identify the need for specialized tooling; guide the special tooling team for design ideation, and development of the tool. Provide comprehensive cost/time modeling that showcases opportunities to drive product change that supports the reduction of cost or complexity of the repair. Work with the technical writing team to establish the repair process. Develop service part release strategy and maintain the Service BOM for spare parts planning. Inspection & Maintenance (I&M) Collaborate with engineering to develop & maintain the Inspection and maintenance activities associated with our Operations vehicles and Test fleet. Review effectiveness data and suggest improvements to the maintenance plans to drive efficiency up and reduce vehicle downtime. Identify areas of improvements in the Inspection and maintenance program and run process improvement projects independently. Work with the technician and program management team to implement the maintenance plans. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all maintenance and inspection activities.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
4 to 6 years of engineering experience , ideally with successful experience in mechanical engineering within a service engineering organization.
CAD Skills:
Strong 3D CAD experience, CATIA a plus. Ability to design for a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing processes. Solid understanding of complex mechanical and/or electrical systems. Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented, including proven documentation skills , and the ability to work autonomously to manage projects. Proficiency in using ERP systems for maintenance and operational data management is a plus. Experience within the automotive industry. Why Should You Apply?
