We are currently building our alpha product, ramping up a high volume manufacturing line, and beginning customer pilots About the role EnerVenue is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with excellent problem solving skills who is detail oriented and a great communicator. As a member of a team of engineers responsible for the execution of Research and Development projects you will apply solid engineering fundamentals, knowledge of the product, material science and manufacturing processes to complete projects with a favorable outcome for the company. Project status and results will be communicated clearly and concisely to the relevant team leaders within the company in a regular and punctual manner. What you'll do Produce and maintain engineering documentation for the product including CAD files, drawings, specifications and procedures Optimize procedures and tooling for the assembly of Nickel Hydrogen batteries to improve reliability and reduce product cost Work with vendors to improve the manufacturability of battery components and increase reliability Develop specifications and test procedures for validating new vendors and parts, ensuring that components and subassemblies meet performance requirements Design and conduct experiments to validate the performance of new parts Conduct failure mode analysis to identify root causes and generate novel solutions Conduct research on new materials or product manufacturing processes or techniques to improve existing products or develop new ones

Qualifications Batchelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 2+ years of experience in the design, development, and qualification of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, composites, and/or energy storage systems Experience using CAD and GD&T to produce production-oriented 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies Experience using PLM tools and workflows to maintain engineering documentation Familiarity with material science and the appropriate material specifications Knowledge of industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, and automation Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Ability to interact effectively with suppliers, partners, vendors, and colleagues. Strong written and oral communication
