  • $364,875 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Project leadership Senior leadership Full Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Engineering and Technical Leadership Provide engineering and technical leadership for the Advanced Transceiver, ensuring alignment with the company's technology roadmap and business objectives.
Guide the Advanced Transceiver projects to ensure technical developments support the company's strategic technology and business goals. Customer Collaboration Work with customers to understand how to develop differentiated technology to enable customers' success and Coherent success. Engage with customers to identify needs and guide technology development that drives both customer and company success. Research & Development Management Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of advanced R D initiatives within the Datacenter business group. Manage all phases of advanced R D projects in the Datacenter group, from planning through delivery. Collaboration and Organizational Growth Collaborate with other technical and business leaders to establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive organizational growth. Set priorities and optimize resources in partnership with technical and business leaders to support organizational growth. Mentorship and Innovation Mentor and develop engineering managers and senior technical staff, promoting excellence and innovation. Support and mentor engineering managers and senior staff to foster excellence and innovation. Compliance and Standards Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Uphold industry standards, best practices, and regulatory compliance in all engineering activities. Teamwork and Communication Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and open communication across engineering. Industry Engagement Understand and influence the industry direction and trends through interaction with customers, standard bodies, and MSA groups. Engage with customers and industry groups to stay current and shape industry trends. Education & Experience Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. More than ten years of progressive engineering leadership experience, preferably in advanced research and development or transceivers technology. Demonstrated success in managing large, complex engineering teams and projects. Outstanding strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Skills Deep technical understanding of transceiver technologies, and proven track record of developing advanced concepts for transceivers. Deep understanding of customer requirements for both current and future products. Ability to engage with laser, detector, integrated circuit, and optical packaging teams both internal to the company and external to the company Creative thinker Existing relationships with major transceiver customers a plus. Understand the competition from China vendors on datacom transceivers is highly desired Working Conditions On site in California. Some work may be done remotely. Some travel may be required. Physical Requirements Minimal physical activity : There is little to no need for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, or manual labor. Computer use : Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse for communication, project management, and collaboration tools.

Some travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, or site visits, but this is not a core part of the job.
