Minimum qualifications:

5 years of experience maintaining and repairing semiconductor fabrication equipment. 5 years of experience with photolithography, vacuum/plasma tools, or packaging equipment (e.g., wire bonders). 5 years of experience working with hazardous chemicals and electrical systems in a manufacturing setting.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with electro-mechanical measurements (oscilloscopes, generators, calipers, etc.) and CAD software (KiCad, Solidworks, AutoCAD). Experience with etch (ICP/RIE) and deposition (PVD/evaporation) systems, including high-vacuum technology, RF power supplies, and toxic gas delivery systems. Proficiency in troubleshooting vacuum, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software systems, ideally down to the component level. Ability to read complex schematics (electrical, pneumatic, P&ID) and perform component-level repairs on electronics, robotics, and vacuum sub-systems. Ability to work in a cleanroom environment wearing full PPE. Demonstrated success in managing equipment installations or major upgrades, including vendor selection, facilities coordination, and acceptance testing (FAT/SAT). About the job The Quantum Equipment Engineering team ensures the installation, reliability, and optimization of the manufacturing fleet used to produce high-quality quantum devices. As an Equipment Engineer, you will own the performance of complex semiconductor tools within our fabrication facility. You will lead root-cause troubleshooting, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement projects to maximize tool availability. Beyond maintenance, you will analyze failure modes and implement upgrades. Your technical expertise and safety-first mindset will ensure our facility maintains the precise stability required for Quantum Computing breakthroughs. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
