Face-to-Face Interview Required Local Candidates Only | No Relocation Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Component Engineer to support product development, design transfer, and manufacturing readiness activities for complex hardware products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in component engineering, lifecycle management, manufacturability assessments, and supplier collaboration. This role requires close interaction with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure components and assemblies meet performance, compliance, and production requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying component risks, evaluating lifecycle status, supporting design verification testing (DVT), reviewing mechanical drawings, and ensuring readiness for manufacturing release in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities DVT & Design Release Support Participate in Design Verification Testing (DVT) readiness reviews and design reviews. Identify component-related risks, manufacturability concerns, and documentation gaps. Support design transfer activities to ensure products are ready for manufacturing release. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve design quality and production readiness. Component Risk & Lifecycle Management Evaluate component lifecycle status, including Active, NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs), and End-of-Life (EOL). Assess supplier risk, component availability, and long-term sourcing strategies. Recommend alternate components and risk mitigation plans. Support release and qualification of off-the-shelf (OTS) and custom components. Work proactively to identify long lead-time items and supply chain risks. Mechanical Drawing Review & Manufacturability Review engineering drawings for dimensional accuracy and compliance with GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5). Analyse tolerance stack-ups and identify assembly or performance risks. Evaluate manufacturability based on supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes. Identify over-constrained tolerances, yield concerns, and production challenges. Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) recommendations. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a liaison between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. Participate in supplier technical discussions and component evaluations. Support resolution of build issues, prototype challenges, and early production concerns. Engage suppliers to identify alternate sources and cross-reference opportunities. Data Management & Documentation Support component lifecycle advancement within PLM systems. Ensure complete component specifications, compliance documentation, and approved sourcing information. Maintain alignment between component data in Propel and NetSuite. Support traceability requirements, audits, and regulatory compliance activities. Ensure accurate and timely documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 12+ years of professional experience in Component Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Experience supporting product development through DVT, design verification, and manufacturing release phases. Strong understanding of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components. Experience evaluating component lifecycle status, supplier risk, and sourcing strategies. Ability to review datasheets and perform fit, form, and function analyses. Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, GD&T principles, and tolerance stack-up analysis. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, molding, and sheet metal fabrication. Experience working in cross-functional environments involving Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
