What to Expect
Tesla's Remanufacturing team is looking for motivated senior engineers for equipment, and controls engineering positions. This role requires rapid problem solving and ability to iterate on solutions quickly. This team is developing brand new processes for remanufacturing energy products, and you will be responsible for improving and in some cases inventing the solution to these new processes. This role requires hands-on involvement on the manufacturing line and emphasizes analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail. What You'll Do
Troubleshoot, iterate, and solve challenging problems in real time
Flexibility to work with cross functional teams to solve problems and deliver solutions on time ranging from immediate deadlines to months out deadlines
Define the equipment needs for a given station to do a given process
Modify PLC controls sequence logic, to enhance safety, reliability, reduce faults, and achieve production goals
Configure and program IO devices, servo systems, Fanuc robots, to meet process and production needs
Lead diagnose and resolve PLC faults to minimize downtime, improve cycle times, and enhance process efficiency
Troubleshooting Electrical and Mechanical issues on the production line What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant experience in an engineering role
Strong problem-solving ability to address complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Proficiency in
HMI/SCADA
industrial systems (TIA Portal and Ignition SCADA)
Advanced proficiency in PLC programming and logic troubleshooting using IEC-61131
compliant languages (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000)
Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including PROFINET, EtherCAT, and Ethernet, with experience integrating distributed I/O systems (e.g., Balluff I/O-Link)
Evidence of mechanical design aptitude and engineering fundamentals aptitude Compensation and Benefits

Expected Compensation
$93,600 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
