Livermore, CA Job Type:
Full-time, On-site Salary:
$80,000•100,000 per year, depending on experience, hands-on engineering background, and technical fit. About the Role MyHeatSinks is a specialized engineering and manufacturing company solving challenging thermal management problems, including liquid cooling systems, high-performance heat sinks, cold-forged components, CNC-machined parts, and automated manufacturing processes. We are looking for a mechanical engineer who wants to be involved in the full product-development cycle, from concept and design to testing, manufacturing, production support, and customer-facing technical discussions. This is not a pure desk-design role. You will work with CAD, thermal analysis, lab testing, manufacturing processes, automation, and hands-on production support. Responsibilities Design and develop thermal management products, including heat sinks, liquid cooling systems, and mechanical assemblies. Perform CAD modeling, thermal simulation, lab testing, engineering calculations, and technical analysis. Research liquid cooling structures, thermal performance, materials, manufacturing methods, and product improvements. Support Design for Manufacturability improvements for CNC machining, cold forging, skiving, soldering, assembly, and inspection. Help develop and improve automated manufacturing cells, including robotic production lines, material handling, and automated inspection. Work directly with the Factory Manager and production team on a regular basis, approximately two hours per day or one full day per week. Participate in hands-on production support, including machine setup support, material handling, QA inspections, product finishing, and packaging. Identify opportunities to improve product design, tooling, fixtures, process flow, quality control, and manufacturing efficiency. Partner with the sales team to understand customer technical requirements, application constraints, and performance goals. Explain technical solutions to customers in a clear, practical, and professional way. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field. GPA of 3.3 or higher. Strong academic foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and mechanics of materials. Strong drive to solve difficult engineering problems, with the persistence and determination to work through technical challenges until practical solutions are found. Strong CAD skills, or the ability to quickly develop practical CAD design skills. Hands-on engineering experience through coursework, lab work, internships, machine shop work, Formula SAE, robotics, research, or personal hardware projects. Willingness to work in an active manufacturing environment and learn directly from experienced production staff, with or without reasonable accommodation. Practical builder mindset, strong work ethic, and willingness to support hands-on production work when needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, production, sales, and customers. Due to the nature of certain projects, this position may require eligibility to access export-controlled information under U.S. export control laws, including
ITAR/EAR.
Helpful Experience, Not Required Experience in any of the following areas is helpful, but not required: Thermal simulation, CFD, FEA, or lab testing. CNC machining, robotics, automation, PLCs, fixtures, tooling, or manufacturing process development. Liquid cooling, heat sinks, electronics cooling, or thermal management products. Programming or scripting for engineering analysis, testing, automation, or data analysis. Manufacturing, quality control, machine setup, or hands-on production work. Why Join Us? This role offers a broad and practical engineering experience. You will not be limited to one small part of the process. You will help design thermal products, test them, see how they are manufactured, improve production processes, support automation, solve production problems, and work with the customers who use them. For an engineer who wants to build real products and understand the full path from design to production, this is a strong opportunity.
