The role combines mechanical design, motion systems, manufacturing processes, and industrial automation to improve accuracy, productivity, and reliability in manufacturing operations. Duties Mechanical Design Design machine structures, frames, enclosures, and assemblies CNC & Motion Systems Design systems for CNC mills, lathes, grinding machines, or automation equipment Integrate servo motors, linear actuators, and motion control components Optimize rigidity, vibration damping, thermal stability, and machine accuracy Support machine kinematics and precision alignment Automation Integration Work with controls engineers on PLC, HMI, and robotic integration Design automated loading/unloading systems Develop fixtures, conveyors, guarding, and safety systems Support robotic arms and end-of-arm tooling integration Analysis & Validation Conduct FEA and stress analysis Analyze vibration, fatigue, and thermal deformation Prototype and test machine assemblies Troubleshoot field issues and improve designs Manufacturing Support Coordinate with machining, fabrication, and assembly teams
