About the Role MiniMed is looking for a Sr R D Engineering Manager for our New Ventures Group. This group is focused on developing new diabetes systems, products and solutions in an inorganic, accelerator environment. The Sr R D Manger is responsible for driving the technical strategy and execution of projects that deliver products for patients in need of emerging solutions to help manage their diabetes. Leveraging a broad and diverse technical experience and skillset, this leader will provide technical leadership and direction to and collaborate with a cross-functional program development team including co-collaborators, outside partners and internal members with expertise from a wide variety of engineering and product development disciplines. Directly responsible for leading the engineering disciplines of engineering (systems, mechanical, electrical, firmware, software) and collaborating with other functions such as manufacturing engineering, marketing, clinical regulatory affairs, quality and other key business functions. In addition, this leader will generate technical plans based on key technical risks, activities to reduce risk, product architecture, evaluation activities to converge on conceptual, prototype and final product embodiments. As the technical leader of the program, they will work side-by-side with the program leader, lead key technical efforts and actively participate in senior leadership meetings. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Build upon the R D infrastructure to support New Venture programs Plan and lead the technical aspects of new product development programs from conception through commercialization Lead the engineering team to assess the feasibility, characterization and qualification of new potential features and technologies and their readiness for product integration Lead the efforts to define the product and functional requirements Direct the efforts the verification of requirements and support the validation of the user needs Lead design reviews through the product development life cycle Support the establishment of several production lines and design transfer to manufacturing Work closely with patients on user needs, product features and design validation Support pre-clinical studies to validate safety prior to first human use Support clinical studies to prove safety and efficacy for regulatory clearance Support the cross-functional team on the execution of the various product development effort Contribute to the technical due diligence of early stage and development companies, potential collaborators and emerging research. Coaching and mentoring team members Building and enhancing the Intellectual Property portfolio Effective conflict resolution Ability to frame and direct effective and efficient technical trade-off discussions Communication with leaderships, management and team members including appropriate risk and escalation management Build a solid and high performing team with clear communication to leadership, extended team members, and enabling functions Engages team members to ensure effective team dynamics and mutual accountability.Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience. PR) locations (USD):$168,800 - $253,200 The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
