Mechanical Design Engineer zb.io Mountain View, CA Job Details Contract $90 - $110 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications 3D CAD modeling 3D modeling software GD&T 3D modeling for product design SolidWorks Electrical Design engineering Design for manufacturability (DFM) Full Job Description Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies including plastic parts, metal components, enclosures, brackets, mechanisms, and integrated hardware solutions. Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation using tools such as NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar MCAD platforms. Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, industrial design, and supplier teams to ensure mechanical designs meet product requirements. Support prototype builds, engineering validation testing (EVT/DVT/PVT), and production ramp activities. Perform design reviews, tolerance analysis, and mechanical evaluations to improve product quality and reliability. Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), and scalability. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience designing mechanical components such as: Plastic injection-molded parts Metal components and assemblies Mechanical enclosures Printed circuit board (PCB) integration Flexible circuits (FPC/Flex) Consumer electronics hardware components 5+ years of experience using 3D
