Broadcom's VMware Cloud Foundation Division (VCF) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our VCF Ops Management organization. As a key member of the development team, you'll focus on building, testing, and supporting management and configuration solutions for our private cloud offering. We need a proactive, team-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast paced environments. The individual and team goal will be to develop and maintain high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives. Work location for this position is in our Palo Alto, CA office. Must have legal authorization to work in the US. Responsibilities Lead within an Agile team to design, review, and deliver high-quality, well-tested code that meets business requirements. Solve complex technical challenges by implementing robust, high-standard software solutions. Commit to delivering stories and tasks within the sprint. Develop automated test cases to validate integrated / end-to-end functionality. Actively communicate and collaborate within the team and across functional boundaries. Drive opportunities to increase efficiency, security, and product quality through best practices. Interact with support teams to handle customer issues. Requirements Bachelor's degree in a software related field and 8+ years of experience or Master's degree in a software related field and 6+ years of experience. Extensive experience with Python, Java, libraries, and asynchronous programming. Strong experience with Linux operating systems. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, and system administration. Experience developing scalable systems with high availability. Experience in configuration management and infrastructure automation technologies like Salt and Ansible. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub Actions). Experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, software design patterns and distributed systems fundamentals. Knowledge of version control systems such as Git. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to learn, apply, and integrate with various technologies.
Additional Job Description:
Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $192,000. As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth. All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
