Job Description

You will serve as a Exploratory Development System Engineer and Design SME in the Research & Development Group, Weapons & Energetics Dept, Weapons Development Div of
NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Qualifications:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Mechanical Engineer. Specialized experiences must include duties of some or all of the following: 1) Providing programmatic support for technical projects, with a strong focus on managing cost, schedule, and ensuring all performance requirements are met; 2) Providing technical mentorship and expert guidance to engineering teams, colleagues, or customers; 3) Demonstrating experience in a customer-facing role, including defining and refining project requirements directly with stakeholders and end-users; 4) Expert-level knowledge of system engineering principles and best practices, including requirements definition, risk identification, and system integration; 5) Expertise in mechanical engineering design concepts, development workflows, and the execution of critical experiments.
