K DOE and Excellent Benefits SUMMARY:
The Electro-Mechanical Field Engineer will perform on-site installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair of electric motors (AC/DC), pumps, generators, and control panel. The following duties will be performed: Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using meters, megohm testers, vibration analyzers, and thermal imaging equipment Perform precision laser shaft alignments on motor-pump and motor-generator sets, including both cold and hot alignment checks Select and install appropriate shims; document pre- and post-alignment readings and corrections Troubleshoot VFDs, PLCs, soft starters, and relay-based control systems. Coordinate with customers to minimize downtime and communicate findings clearly Maintain accurate service records, parts logs, and field reports Support shop operations during non-field periods (rewinds, bearing replacements, test bench work)
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of field service experience with electric motors, pumps, or rotating equipment Working knowledge of three-phase power, motor control circuits, and NEC fundamentals. Mandatory Requirement - California electrician's license. Familiarity with VFD setup and parameter configuration (Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Danfoss, Siemens a plus) Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and P&ID drawings Strong mechanical aptitude - comfortable with couplings, seals, bearings, and alignment Valid driver's license with clean driving record (company vehicle provided) Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varied industrial environments Nice to have Experience with generator sets (diesel/gas) and load bank testing Hydraulic or pneumatic systems experience Prior customer-facing field service role CTR Group has been a leader in its industry for over 35 years and is rated highly on Google, Indeed and Facebook for being a great company to work for.
