Job Description
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. Responsibilities Design/Analyze/Test EMI Filters for various Archer Products. Provide inputs regarding value selection, orientation of components, board layout guidelines and grounding strategies for EMI Filters. Perform in-depth Circuit and FEM Simulations for Emissions, Susceptibility, ESD and lightning strikes. Provide detailed EMC recommendations to Electrical, Power Electronics and Mechanical Engineers for PCB board layout/Cable shielding strategies, enclosure designs, grounding etc. Work closely with EMC Test Engineers to design/test/certify various Archer Products for
DO-160G/MIL 461G.
Work with EMC test labs for Aircraft level andDO-160/MIL 461G
pre-compliance/compliance for Archer Products. Requirements Strong background in EMI Analysis/Simulation of Power Electronics/Electric Circuits. Solid knowledge and usage of Circuit Simulation tools (MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM etc.) and Ansys EM tools (Q3D, SIWave, HFSS and Maxwell) Detailed Understanding of various EMC Equipment such as LISNs, Antennas, BCI Probes, EMI test receivers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzer, Impedance Analyzer etc. Familiarity with various standards such asDO-160, MIL-461, CISPR 12/16/25/32, UN ECE
Regulation 10, FCC Part 15/18 etc. Bonus Qualifications Prior EMC Per-Compliance and Certification experience in Aerospace (DO 160 or MIL 461) /Automotive Industry (FCC or UN ECE Reg 10). Detailed Understanding about SI/PI - Design/Simulation and Measurement. Experience with analysis/design/test with Active EMI filters. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
