GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Learns to use professional concepts. Applies knowledge and basic problem solving techniques to define and resolve problems. Determines a course of action based on guidelines. Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Complete mechanical design, drafting, and documentation tasks on new designs on an as-needed basis Work is reviewed periodically based on a set of defined procedures or precedence. Normally receives general instruction on work and new assignments. Develops stable working relationships internally. Exchanges standard/basic information with colleagues and immediate supervisor, project leaders and other professionals in the team./group. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills. Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements. Ability to obtain Security Clearance, if needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in related field with little to no previous professional experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Office / Work Station / Manufacturing / Shop Floor Environments. Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
