Job Description:
Perform hands-on setup, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting for ATE test floor hardware. The technician is responsible for the physical integrity of thermal systems, load boards, and sockets to ensure stable test conditions and prevent hardware damage.
Core Responsibilities:
System Setup & Thermal Integration Equipment Installation:
Execute the physical setup of TCORE, SeaCobra, Eflux, Winway, and Chroma thermal units, including water/air line routing and GUI configuration.
Thermal Interface Prep:
Perform precision cutting and installation of Indium sheets and apply thermal grease to pedestals to ensure proper heat transfer.
Cold Test Preparation:
Set up dry boxes and purge air systems for cold-temperature testing (-40°C to 5°C) to prevent condensation and ice buildup.
Hardware Changeover:
Support ATE Engineers with Load Board (LB) changes, ULFF setups, and device swaps.
Hardware Debugging & Failure Repair Thermal Failure Debug:
Troubleshoot thermal system alarms and hardware failures (e.g., pump issues, sensor errors, or cooling leaks).
Socket Maintenance:
Inspect sockets under a microscope using ball maps; perform pin replacements and specialized cleaning to fix continuity failures.
Load Board Verification/ Repair:
Conduct visual inspections and electrical verification (Short, Open, Continuity, and TDR tests); perform PAD cleaning and Kapton taping as required.
Mechanical Calibration:
Calibrate Plunger Force and adjust air pressure (PSI) settings according to approved charts to ensure uniform contact.
Documentation and Reports:
Daily Walkthroughs:
Audit all test stations to verify thermal systems are functioning; update the Walkthrough Excel report.
Safety Verification:
Inspect water sensors and Ionizer fans daily to ensure they are active and positioned correctly.
Incident Reporting:
Document all hardware-related failures (e.g., burnt sockets, thermal runaway) in the daily shift report for root cause analysis.
