Pay Range:
$90hr - $94hr Responsible for supporting new product development and supplier engineering activities with a focus on cable harnesses, manufacturing processes, supplier quality, and cost optimization. The role involves driving supplier improvements, ensuring design for manufacturability, managing supplier quality issues, and supporting end-to-end product lifecycle activities.
Requirement/Must Have:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering with 7 years of relevant experience or Master s degree with 5 years of experience. Strong experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or component engineering. Experience with cable assemblies, wire harness production, or electromechanical manufacturing processes. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and overmolding. Experience in supplier root cause analysis and corrective action processes. Strong project management and analytical skills. Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC methodologies at suppliers. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to evaluate supplier technical, quality, and business capabilities.
Experience:
Seven or more years of engineering experience (BS degree) or five or more years with MS degree. Four to seven years of experience in cable assembly, wire harness, or electromechanical manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities:
Work with new product development teams to procure custom cables ensuring design for manufacturability, quality, and cost targets. Support prototype builds and track material readiness at suppliers. Drive supplier root cause analysis for cable harness failures. Mitigate supply risks by evaluating capacity, lead times, and quality issues. Develop and maintain harness standards, specifications, and design guidelines. Work with sourcing teams to evaluate new suppliers and manufacturing sites. Execute supplier qualification deliverables including process validation, inspection reports, and capability analysis. Drive cost reduction, capacity improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives with suppliers. Manage supplier process changes, validations, and equipment qualifications. Lead corrective and preventive actions for supplier quality issues. Track and resolve supplier variances from issue identification to closure. Communicate project status and supplier performance metrics to stakeholders. Develop supplier improvement strategies and drive performance excellence. Prepare supplier scorecards and performance reports. Support new product introduction and supplier readiness planning. Collaborate with engineering teams on design for manufacturability and supplier selection. Review and resolve customer complaints, manufacturing variances, and inspection issues.
Should Have:
Experience working with strategic sourcing and supplier management teams. Strong understanding of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and SPC methodologies. Experience in executive-level reporting and presentations. Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
