Job Description

EV Charging Test Engineer Torrance, CA (100% on-site)
Duration:
initial 7-month contract (W2 not eligible for C2C)
Pay:
$44-49/hr We are seeking an experienced EV Charging Test Engineer to support the development, validation, and testing of electric vehicle charging systems and components. This role requires hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems, test instrumentation, data acquisition, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in planning, executing, and analyzing tests while supporting root cause investigations and continuous product improvement. Key Responsibilities Develop and support test plans, test procedures, and validation activities for EV charging systems and components. Execute testing and analyze performance data to verify system functionality and reliability. Install and configure test instrumentation, including thermocouples, voltage probes, current transducers, and data acquisition equipment. Create and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, specifications, engineering drawings, and verification plans. Design, build, and modify test fixtures and instrumentation required for charging equipment validation. Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical and charging systems. Support root cause analysis efforts and drive resolution of issues identified during testing. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful test execution and product validation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a test engineering, validation engineering, or similar technical role. Experience executing and maintaining system-level and component-level test programs. Strong hands-on hardware testing and troubleshooting skills. Experience working with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems up to 1000 VDC. Proficiency with data acquisition systems, data loggers, and test instrumentation. Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing activities with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience testing EV charging systems, power electronics, battery systems, or related automotive technologies.
