Develop control-oriented system models and use them to develop and refine control strategies and drive their implementation for electric vehicles. Research and develop estimations and control theory models for thermal management of powertrain, battery, and cabin HVAC. Responsible to test and integrate thermal control software development and develop the SIL architecture to automate firmware testing for electric vehicles. Develop and optimize software to meet all the design criteria to meet customer expectations. Work with firmware and integration engineers to implement, test, and debug these algorithms and write high quality C code for Realtime embedded systems. Responsible for model development and data analysis in MATLAB/Simulink.
RQMTS:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field and 2 years [or a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years] of experience in any occupation involving thermal engineering. Experience must include working with linear systems analysis, observers, and state-estimation, and first principles design and analysis of control systems; creating controls-oriented dynamic system models of thermal, hydraulic, or mechanical systems in MATLAB, Simulink, and Python; using first principles approach to problem solve; working with physics of basic electric propulsion, motion control systems, and heat transfer; using Vector and/or Peak CAN based diagnostic tools; and delivering customer-facing software and hardware.

Utilize advanced fatigue prediction techniques in nCode for seam weld fatigue & parent metal fatigue calculations with appropriate load histories extracted from Road Load Data (RLD) inputs from Dynamics team. Explain the durability failure modes through animations / time slices and devise countermeasures to address those while zooming out to consider other system requirements such as DFM, safety, & NVH etc. Perform analysis assumptions and the basis of countermeasures using first principles and demonstrate to Design Engineers on how to apply these principles to achieve robust design development. Develop new analytical methods and subsystem level virtual validation procedures.
