Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (green card holders) due to project requirements. This role works closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Process Engineering, and Automation teams to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement. Duties and responsibilities Support day-to-day mechanical engineering needs for Li-ion battery manufacturing equipment and production lines. Troubleshoot mechanical issues impacting production throughput, yield, and equipment uptime; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions. Provide technical support for mechanical systems including conveyors, pumps, valves, piping, motors, gearboxes, actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, and material handling systems. Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations teams to plan and execute repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment upgrades. Support commissioning, qualification, and ramp-up of new equipment or production line modifications. Develop and maintain mechanical documentation including equipment manuals, PM procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and spare parts lists. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to improve safety, reliability, cycle time, and process stability. Assist in vendor management, including technical reviews, installation support, and acceptance testing. Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and facility safety policies. Support layout planning and mechanical design modifications using SOLIDWORKS and CAD drawings as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be a green Card holder or a US Citizen Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a production environment (battery, semiconductor, chemical, automotive, or similar industries preferred). Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical systems and industrial equipment. Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment specifications. Experience in Li-ion battery manufacturing processes (mixing, coating, calendaring, slitting, stacking/winding, formation, aging, pack assembly). Familiarity with automation interfaces, sensors, and machine safety standards. Experience with CMMS systems, spare parts management, and maintenance planning. Experience supporting cleanroom, dry room, or controlled manufacturing environments. Physical requirements Capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Must able to wear PPE at work when required Must be ok to work in the environment with Li-ion battery production Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and climb on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 50lbs.
