Key Responsibilities Plan, set up, and run nonlinear CAE simulations in LS‑DYNA for vehicle safety and crashworthiness, including component, subsystem, and full‑vehicle models. Evaluate and document performance against regulatory and OEM requirements, including (but not limited to) FMVSS, ISO, and OEM‑specific load cases. Work closely with body, chassis, battery, restraint, and attribute teams to integrate safety requirements into the vehicle design. Prepare clear presentations and written reports summarizing methodologies, assumptions, results, and design recommendations for internal and customer reviews. Support planning of simulation workload, including load case prioritization and estimating effort across development phases. Required qualifications Engineering degree (Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or related discipline). 5-10 years of experience in CAE with a strong focus on vehicle crashworthiness and safety integration. Hands‑on experience with nonlinear finite element analysis, specifically LS‑DYNA (model setup, control cards, contacts, materials, and post‑processing). NCAP, IIHS, ISO
) and associated CAE methods. Strong data interpretation and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate simulation outcomes into practical design guidance. Preferred experience Direct exposure to EV safety and battery‑related crash load cases, including FMVSS 305 and OEM‑specific requirements. Experience working on occupant protection, seating systems, seat belt anchorage, roof strength, and interior impact load cases. Familiarity with explicit solver workflows for abuse and deploy / no‑deploy evaluations (front, side, pole, rollover, static). Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers on multi‑gateway vehicle programs. Soft skills Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex CAE topics to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
