Job Description

Our client, a leader in advanced optical systems and precision manufacturing, is seeking an Engineering Technician

  • R D Optics, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the Research & Development team.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Around $32/hour with flexibility depending on experience level What's the Job? Assemble opto-mechanical devices, including optical components, mechanical housing, and associated hardware and cabling. Inspect incoming components, including custom machined parts, for defects and ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards. Maintain accurate assembly records, including inspection and test reports and assembly logs. Provide feedback on design or process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Assist in prototype assembly, rework, and developing detailed assembly instructions, travelers, and alignment procedures for development and production use. What's Needed? High school diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor's degree in physics, Optical Engineering, or a closely related field preferred. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a high precision optical/opto-mechanical manufacturing or production environment. Experience with precision optical alignment and handling optical fibers for at least 2 years. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed procedures accurately. Proficiency in using measurement devices such as calipers and micrometers, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. What's in it for me?
