Rocky Mountain Steel Mills in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Steelmaking operations. This position will support engineering, maintenance, and capital improvement projects through our manufacturing facility. Job Description and Responsibilities Support and collaborate with operations, maintenance, safety and reliability in capital improvement projects that support upgrades, plant expansions, process improvements and preventative and predictive maintenance. Lead in the planning, designing, and executing of mechanical engineer projects by preparing documentation, drawings, technical specifications, and reports Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and performance validation and prepare reports of the outcomes Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), develop and update maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency Assist in scope development, budgeting, scheduling of capital projects and work with vendors and contractors during equipment procurement and installation Support and manage project timelines, cost control and ensure compliance of safety, environmental and regulatory standards Co-lead in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required Prior experience in metals manufacturing, heavy industry required 2-4 years mechanical engineering experience required Project based experience preferred strong technical aptitude and problem solving skills Knowledge of mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulic, pneumatic systems Familiarity with CAD Software Strong analytical and problem solving skills Knowledge of safety standards and practices #TAS Compensation $80,000 - $90,000
