Job Description
- Assist in developing and executing testing and research programs at TTC
- Perform track wayside and vehicle instrumentation setups and calibrations
- Assist in mechanical engineering and system engineering related to remote control locomotive systems
- Help with fabrication, assembly, inspection of mechanical components, and laboratory testing for instrumentation such as strain gages, temperature and other sensors Qualifications Required
- A rising Sophomore / Junior / Senior currently enrolled as an undergraduate student working towards a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil engineering or equivalent with 1-3 years experience
- Experience with data analysis using tools such as MATLAB or Python
- Experience with laboratory testing and instrumentation design that includes strain gages and temperature sensors
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills Qualifications Desired
- Experience with vehicle maintenance and repair
- Experience with vehicle control systems
- Experience with strain gauge load cell signal calibration, conditioning, and analysis
