We are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to own multi‑level assemblies on these machines, working from concept through release to manufacturing in a hands‑on, small‑team environment. Responsibilities Design multi‑level mechanical assemblies in Autodesk Inventor for custom CNC grinders and automation cells (bases, enclosures, axis structures, workheads, tooling/dresser modules, and automation/robotic loader frames). Create accurate 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, and support machine builds on the shop floor from initial fit‑up through final adjustments. Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to translate customer requirements into practical, manufacturable machine designs. Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers and machine builders to resolve design issues and drive designs to completion. Support design changes, continuous improvement, and new machine/automation concepts as customer needs evolve. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. 3+ years of professional mechanical design experience. Strong expert-level Autodesk Inventor skills for assemblies and detailed drawings. Experience designing multi‑part and multi‑level mechanical assemblies for industrial machinery, automation equipment, or other complex capital equipment (does not need to be CNC specifically). Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Bristol, CT and collaborate daily with shop and engineering teams. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role. Nice to have Experience with CNC machines, machine tools, grinding equipment, or industrial automation systems. Background in machine frames, motion/axis structures, enclosures, tooling/dresser assemblies, or robotic/automation cells. Hands‑on comfort around machines and willingness to spend time on the shop floor during build and debug. Why join NEMTUSA Work on one‑off, high‑precision CNC grinding machines and automation systems where you can see the full lifecycle of your designs in real customer production. Small, agile team environment with direct access to leadership and the ability to influence machine architecture and design decisions. Varied projects across medical device, aerospace, and precision tooling customers, rather than repetitive product lines. Compensation Competitive mid‑level Mechanical Design Engineer compensation, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional bonus and benefits may be available. Full‑time, on‑site role based in Bristol, CT.
