Introduction Join Our Team!\r\nDelDOT is Now Offering Sign-on Bonuses for Engineers!\r\nThe Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) recognizes its Engineers are a highly valued resource and play a critical role in ensuring the State's infrastructure is safe, reliable, dependable, and sustainable. �For that reason we are now providing monetary recruitment incentives to new DelDOT Engineers in accordance to our Recruitment Program Policy and Procedures.\r\nThe program provides recruitment incentives as follows:\r\nSign-On Bonus- Incentives are based on the position classification:\r\n\r\n $4,000 Engineer I\r\n $5,000 Engineer II\r\n $6,000 Engineer III\r\n $7,000 Engineer IV\r\n\r\nIncentives are paid three months from the initial date of employment. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DelDOT in the Engineer I-IV series. �Must be a new hire to the State of Delaware or new to the Engineer classification series within the
State of Delaware\r\nNOTE:
You will receive more information during the hiring process. This program is administered by the Department of Transportation's Human Resources - Employment Services section.� The program may be terminated by the Department of Transportation at any time with or without notice.\r\n Summary Statement This position in the Division of Planning, Development Coordination Section, will be responsible for traffic engineering and analysis review of proposed development projects throughout the State of Delaware, advising local land-use agencies on the expected transportation impacts associated with those projects and determining what transportation infrastructure improvements are necessary to mitigate those impacts.� Other duties may be assigned as deemed operationally necessary.\r\n�\r\n Essential Functions Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.� Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications. \r\n � \r\n Reviews permit applications, blueprints and/or designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations. \r\n � \r\n Applies the principles and theories of science and mathematics to research and develop solutions to technical problems. \r\n � \r\n Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, research and development projects, inspections and/or investigations to collect data and ensure conformance to state/federal laws and regulations. \r\n � \r\n Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities. \r\n � \r\n Plans and coordinates engineering projects.\r\n � \r\n Reviews, analyzes and reports on the status of projects and/or regulatory conformance.\r\n � \r\n Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.\r\n � \r\n Provides technical guidance and training to technical staff. \r\n\r\n Job Requirement Series \r\n\r\nJOB

REQUIREMENTS
for Engineer IV\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n1. Possession of a valid Delaware Professional Engineering License OR Possession of a valid Professional Engineering license issued by a proper authority of a state, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or a province or territory of Canada.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. At least five years experience in one or more of the discipline(s) of engineering shown below.�\r\n\r\n\r\n Chemical Engineering\r\n Electrical Engineering\r\n Civil Engineering\r\n Construction Engineering\r\n Environmental Engineering\r\n Industrial Engineering\r\n Mechanical Engineering\r\n Agricultural Engineering\r\n\r\n3.
