About the job: Kent is looking for a Fired Equipment Engineer to be based in Beaumont, TX and support regional project site(s). A Fired Equipment Engineer provides technical engineering support for critical fired equipment such as fired heaters, boilers, flares, and thermal oxidizers in refinery, chemical, and petrochemical environments. The position focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, maintenance planning, turnaround support, and project execution

Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for fired equipment support, including boilers, flares, and thermal oxidizers Troubleshoot operational issues, escalate unresolved problems, and provide advanced technical solutions promptly Lead and support turnaround planning for fired equipment, including worklist development, inspections, and recommendations Develop annual maintenance plans, scope selection, and execution strategies Perform equipment engineering evaluations to recommend design, operational, or maintenance improvements for safety, reliability, and performance Support capital projects, design reviews, and start-ups, including technical quality assurance and design consulting Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance personnel Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to address equipment issues and implement improvements Participate in risk assessments, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives Assist in technology deployment and address gaps identified by internal/external assessments In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (required) 5 plus years of fired equipment/combustion systems experience; 5+ years in refinery, chemical, or petrochemical environments preferred Strong knowledge of API 560, API 530, ASME, NFPA
standards, and mechanical integrity programs Experience in troubleshooting, performance optimization, and turnarounds. Familiarity with EPC projects and mechanical troubleshooting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Equipment Focus:
Fired heaters, furnaces, boilers, flares, thermal oxidizers, combustion systems, and related components. Communication:
Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills. Behavior/ Core Competencies:
