As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for our aerospace customers. You will play a critical role in leading and driving the mechanical design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products. You will report directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager and you'll work out of the Clearwater, FL location on a Hybrid (3+) work schedule. In this role, you will be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge in developing innovative and cost-effective electronic packaging solutions for a variety of aerospace-related products. You will design products that not only meet customer requirements but also meet product quality and manufacturability targets. You will be supporting a variety of projects including new product development, product improvement, process improvement, prototype builds, qualification testing and factory support. Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications. Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies. Perform a variety of analyses, including structural, thermal, and durability. Perform cost estimation and labor estimates. Perform CAD based modeling. Travel up to 10% may be required. Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design.
WE VALUE
Experience in the aerospace industry or adjacent fields. Experience with electronics packaging. Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with Statistical Tolerance Analysis. Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools to ensure product performance and reliability. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace applications.
