Job Description

This role serves as a technical lead within a multidisciplinary project tea, supporting mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) for a wide range of facility types, including healthcare, higher education, institutional, government, K-12 education, and commercial/industrial facilities. ResponsibilitiesServe as Lead Mechanical Engineer on assigned projectsProduce mechanical design and construction drawings and specificationsAct as Engineer of Record for assigned work and supervised staff, as applicableServe as the primary technical and client-facing representative for led projectsPerform and direct evaluations of mechanical equipment and systemsPrepare design calculations, technical analyses, and assessmentsDevelop and oversee BIM/CAD deliverables using Autodesk REVIT and AutoCADConduct site visits, observe construction progress, and prepare field reportsAssess mechanical systems in existing facilitiesDeliver projects on schedule and within budgetMentor and support the development of junior engineering staffCoordinate work with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholdersMaintain knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulationsSupport business development and client relationship efforts QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus) from an ABET-accredited program8-15 years of relevant experience in building systems designLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in an active U.S. jurisdiction, with NCEES recordStrong experience with Autodesk REVIT; AutoCAD requiredProficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF markup/review toolsSolid working knowledge of ASHRAE standardsAbility to work in person at an office location multiple days per weekAbility to travel to project sites and client meetings as requiredAbility to perform site surveys, including ladder accessValid driver's license and acceptable background record
