About the Opportunity A growing MEP engineering consulting firm specializing in commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, and institutional projects throughout South Florida is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer II with experience in HVAC and plumbing system design. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects within a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment with strong growth potential. Position Overview The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for the design, coordination, and production of HVAC and plumbing construction documents under the direction of senior engineering staff and project managers. The ideal candidate is technically strong, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities Design HVAC systems including:
DX systems Chilled water systems Ventilation and exhaust systems Energy code compliance Equipment selection and sizing Design plumbing systems including: Domestic water Sanitary and vent systems Storm drainage Water heating systems Grease waste and specialty systems Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports Develop construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other consultants Attend coordination meetings and site visits as needed Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction administration Assist with code compliance reviews and permitting responses Support project schedules and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 3-6 years of experience in MEP consulting engineering Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and/or residential projects Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Familiarity with: Florida Building Code Florida Plumbing Code Florida Mechanical Code ASHRAE standards Energy Code compliance Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment EI certification preferred PE license or PE track is a plus Preferred Experience Multifamily residential Hospitality Mixed-use developments Healthcare High-rise residential Construction administration experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance bonus opportunities Paid holidays and PTO Health insurance contribution Professional development support Long-term growth opportunity within an expanding engineering practicePay:
