Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and drive the development of cutting-edge cryogenic measurement devices. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and refining mechanical components and systems that meet rigorous industry standards. Your expertise will help ensure our products deliver exceptional performance and reliability across diverse applications. Responsibilities Design electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, and components Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings Develop electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and control interfaces Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams Perform design analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and validation Support prototype builds and engineering change processes Ensure compliance with safety, industry, and customer specifications Manage BOMs, documentation, and revision control Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives Common Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Experience with CAD software such as: Inventor AutoCAD Autodesk Inventor Understanding of electrical systems, sensors, controls, and instrumentation Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills Typical Skills Mechanical system design Electrical integration PLCs and controls GD&T and tolerance analysis Prototype development Problem solving and analytical thinking Technical documentation Equal Opportunity Employer Scientific Instruments, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in the workplace.
