Their engineering team designs and builds high-speed equipment including fillers, cappers, labelers, bottle unscramblers, conveyors, robotic handling systems, and complete production line integrations. The company manages projects from concept and design through manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and customer support, providing customized machinery solutions for a wide range of production environments. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in packaging machinery, automation equipment, or custom machine design. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for designing, improving, and supporting automated packaging equipment and complete production line solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with manufacturing, assembly, automation, and engineering teams to bring custom machinery projects from concept to reality. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and improve automated packaging machinery including fillers, cappers, labelers, bottle unscramblers, conveyors, case erectors, and integrated packaging systems Create and modify mechanical designs, assemblies, machine components, and custom automation equipment Develop solutions involving robotics, pick-and-place systems, motion control, and automated product handling equipment Perform engineering calculations related to machine design, drive systems, tooling, product handling, and component selection Design and optimize stainless steel machine frames, guarding, fixtures, change parts, and machine assemblies Support projects from concept development through manufacturing, assembly, testing, and final customer acceptance Collaborate closely with machining, fabrication, assembly, electrical, and automation teams to ensure successful project execution Troubleshoot mechanical issues impacting machine performance, efficiency, repeatability, and reliability Review customer specifications and develop engineered solutions for unique packaging applications Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, technical specifications, and operating documentation Participate in equipment testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), startup activities, and installation support when required Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on machine performance, reliability, quality, and ease of operation Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline 3+ years of experience designing packaging machinery, automation equipment, custom machinery, or industrial equipment Experience with filling equipment, capping systems, labeling machinery, conveyors, bottle handling systems, case packing equipment, or similar automated machinery Strong understanding of machine design principles and manufacturing processes Experience working with robotics, servo-driven systems, motion control equipment, and automated handling systems Proficiency with 3D CAD software for machine and component design Ability to read and create engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Preferred Experience Packaging machinery design Automation equipment manufacturing Robotics integration Motion control systems Servo-driven equipment Pneumatics Stainless steel equipment design Custom machine building Manufacturing and fabrication environments Ideal Candidate Attributes Hands-on problem solver with a "build, test, improve" mindset Comfortable working directly with machinery on the production floor Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality equipment Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement What's Offered Competitive salary of $90,000
