Mechanical Engineer Purchaser role is responsible for the vendor terms negotiations, prices and schedules delivery using knowledge of budget and schedule requirements. Must have a strong mechanical and technical negotiation skills. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Evaluate and select vendors based on their technical capabilities, having a strong understanding of part manufacturing and the ability to translate design requirements into manufacturing needs. 2. Develop competitive negotiations to drive cost reduction initiatives with the global supply base, while meeting capacity and quality requirements. 3. Manage supplier contracts and long-term agreements with preferred suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are aligned. 4. Collaborate with supporting resources (Engineering, Quality, Global Supply Chains, Logistics, and Regional Teams) to achieve plan, ensure adequate cycle time to procure materials, and escalate critical materials from supplier base to meet customer demands. 5. Leads teams in identification of opportunities to meet objectives for supplier reduction, creation of value, supply chain improvement, and customer satisfaction. 6.This position will execute events across multiple categories and is a key position in delivering cost savings targets 7. Will need to network across our company and build strong relationships with stakeholders and develop negotiation strategies which help support their business. 8. Identify opportunities for competitive bidding 9. Development of existing purchasing network. REQUIREMENTS
Experience in machine shops, sourcing and Supplier Development Ability to successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities Experience leading a multidisciplinary team comprising an engineer, quality engineer, and expeditor Ability to analyze complex data sets, distill key insights into action, and create compelling business recommendations Thorough knowledge of aircraft and turbine engine technical publications (blueprints, EM's, IPC's, etc.) Knowledge of metal-mechanical manufacturing processes, with the ability to read blueprints and perform cost analysis. Knowledge of inventory management and/or warehousing management information systems Proven ability to manage and enhance vendor performance in quality, engineering, and on-time delivery (OTD) through KPI monitoring and on-site vendor visits Performs purchasing management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the procurement's actions required to support multiple tools Strong negotiation and influencing skills Required Qualifications Bachelor or master's degree in mechanical engineering. Minimum of 4-6 years of Supply Chain Management related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to performs the above- mentioned tasks. Knowledge of machine shop environment Technical drawing reading knowledge required. CNC, lathe machine, milling machine, welding and mechanical knowledge required. Ability to efficiently coordinate between multiple parties in a high-tempo environment. Able to read and interpreting maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other OEM technical publications Technical Capacity and the ability to provide technical guidance. Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office COMPENSATION 1.
