RESPONSIBILITIES

Creating Designs:

Identifies and prepares required specifications from proposals, prints and related documents using software to create detailed designs for complex projects/jobs.

Modeling & Detailing:

Engineer, design, 3D model & create fabrication drawings for parts, assemblies, lift plans, installation instructions, hydraulic diagrams, etc.

Routing and Coordination:

Determine appropriate methods, departments, machines, and materials needed based on project/job specifications.

Collaboration:

Work with customers and other employees to ensure the project/job is fabricated to correct specifications.

Reverse Engineering:

Conduct reverse engineering of parts and products for duplication in the Field or Shop utilizing various measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers, 3D Scanners, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS

Design Experience:

3 years of experience in industrial 3D design, engineering & drafting.

Computer Software Experience:

Good computer skills with 2 years' experience using Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.) and/or Solidworks programs.

Math Skills:

Basic knowledge & skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division & geometry.

Structural Design:

3 years' experience in substructure, platforms, metal framing, etc.

Sheet Metal Design:

2 years' experience with laser cutting, press-brake, and other related sheet metal design processes.

Mechanical Design:

2 years' experience in machinery design (bolted assemblies, bearings, gear boxes, chains, pumps, etc.).

Industry Skills:

Knowledge of the Fabrication Industry (welding procedures, fabrication equipment, material properties, hardware capabilities, etc.).

Analyzation, Comprehension and Creativity:

Strong ability to visualize, analyze & comprehend data to develop creative solutions and problem solve.

Interpreting Document & Drawing:

Ability to read & interpret technical documents & drawings.

Using Measurements:

Knowledge of, and conversion between various standards and measurement systems (Imperial/metric, JIS/SAE, etc.).

Create BOM:

Must know how to create BOM (Bills of Material).

Create Prints:

Create detailed fabrication & welding prints for shop use.

Fractions & Decimals:

Able to read & convert fractions and decimals.

Safety:

Knowledge of shop & machine safety standards & use of PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.).

Detail Oriented Attitude:

Possesses great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.

Work Environment:

Must be dependable & capable of working overtime hours when needed and thrive in a fast-paced demanding environment.

Education Requirements:

Associate's degree in Drafting & Design (Or equivalent). Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Or equivalent) a plus. Professional Certifications a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp & reach overhead & outward frequently. Sit, stand and walk for 8-10 hours per day. Ability to work in a 55-95 degree Fahrenheit work environment. Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
