This is a salaried direct onsite position in Rockledge, FL (Cape Canaveral). Ideal salary max target of $160K. Our client is looking for the following experience: Standards knowledge of Spacecraft Loading & Design Analysis, NASA STD 5002 and ECSS‐E‐HB‐32‐26 Current experience with FEA tools Solidworks or similar CAD design experience Spacecraft mechanical systems experience Here's what you'd do: The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and activating spacecraft mechanical systems, including umbilical, deployment, and robotics, payload attachment mechanisms, docking systems, fluid and pneumatic disconnects to support the client's goal of providing terrestrial and orbital refuelling solutions. Design and analyze mechanical components for satellite systems and subsystems. Incorporate additive-manufactured parts into structural design. Generate 3D engineering models and associated 2D drawings. Perform and evaluate Finite Element Analysis of components and assemblies, including stress, vibration, thermal expansion, and modal modeling, using commercial FEA software packages. Write system requirements, interface control, and other design documents. Write analysis reports documenting mechanical analysis performed, incorporating industry standards. Write test plans for system testing to meet mechanical/environmental standards. Interface with fluids, software, electrical engineering teams, customers, and vendors. Work independently as well as part of a team and manage key supplier relationships. Manage your time, workflow, and deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Min 5 years of Spacecraft mechanical systems experience that includes standards knowledge of Spacecraft Loading & Design Analysis , NASA STD 5002 and ECSS‐E‐HB‐32‐26. Minimum 5 years of experience in solid modeling with SolidWorks (highly preferred, but will consider CREO, CATIA, and NX) Min 5 years of experience with FEA tools (NASTRAN and ANSYS tools preferred) Minimum 5 years of experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Preferred Skills:

Spacecraft docking systems experience (highly preferred) Magnetic steering docking system experience Experience with cryogenic systems. Experience with fluid components such as valves, disconnects, and umbilicals. Ability to evaluate test data and present in a clear and impactful manner to various audiences.
