Job Description

Description This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated Traffic Design Engineer who thrives on hands-on design, problem-solving, and collaboration within DRMP's growing Tampa team. The position offers meaningful growth opportunities across a diverse portfolio of projects, including highway and interchange design, roadway widenings, and intersection improvements—featuring both conventional and innovative intersection solutions. Your Primary Responsibilities will include Experience with Signing and Pavement Marking Plans, Signalization, Lighting and ITS plans design Assists Group Leader with the marketing, preparation of scope of services and fee estimation for potential projects. Collaborate with clients, subconsultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements Direct and mentor less-experienced support staff Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; perform routine calculations, and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions What you'll need Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Must have Florida PE license. 1-5 years of experience (post-registration experience). Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Management duties include budgeting, scheduling, job tracking, client interaction, and staff management. Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to forge strong relationships with clients, professionals, and your team members. DOT experience with ITS, signal design, signing and marking design, and lighting.
