Mechanical Engineering Discipline Manager Location:
Florida (Office-Based with Some Flexibility)
Type:
Full-Time Overview A growing multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Discipline Manager to lead its Building Services mechanical team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving technical excellence, managing staff, and overseeing discipline performance across a diverse portfolio of HVAC and plumbing projects. This position is ideal for a strong technical leader who enjoys balancing engineering oversight with team development and operational management. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership across HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, and building systems design Oversee discipline operations including staffing, workload planning, scheduling, and production output Lead quality control (QA/QC) efforts to ensure deliverables are accurate, code-compliant, and coordinated Manage projects from planning through design, construction administration, and closeout Supervise, mentor, and develop engineers, designers, and
BIM/CADD
staff Support project managers with scope development, budgets, schedules, and execution Participate in construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and commissioning Develop and maintain engineering standards, tools, and best practices Assist with proposals, client engagement, and business development efforts Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license required or strongly preferred 8-10+ years of experience in an MEP or A/E consulting environment Proven experience leading mechanical engineering teams and managing workflows Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing systems, energy efficiency, and building controls Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design/calculation software Ability to serve as Engineer of Record with signing/sealing responsibilities Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Why Apply?
