We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering college student who has the desire to work in the mechanical contracting field. The right individual will work with the project manager team and aid with engineering responsibilities which will include design and field observation activities as well as document production in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM, building information modeling). Interns will have the opportunity to witness field installations of the systems and to work alongside senior engineering staff.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Precon Assistance Takeoff's Estimate reviews Job-site walk thru's Other/Miscellaneous tasks for putting together an estimate and proposal Operations - PM Assistance Submittal and RFI processing Attending meetings and tracking action items/notes Vendor and subcontractor management assistance Regular field visits to interface with foremen Jobsite inspections for schedule, quality and safety reviews Compiling closeout documents End of Assignment Presentation Knowledge, skill and ability requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance) Interested in working in the MEP field Intermediate experience in Access and Excel Effective statistical analysis skills Effective research and communication skills Enthusiasm, idealism, creativity and dedication to getting results Ability to work collaboratively and independently Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills Prior work experience and educational requirements Must be currently enrolled in an engineering degree program at an accredited US college or university Physical Demands The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical office environment and miscellaneous field travelNOTE:
